Giant Shelter Dog Known As "Dribble King" Finds Forever Home In Time For The Holidays

It is said that good things come to those who wait...

A Cane Corso named Basher has bounced from rescue to rescue for the past two years looking for the perfect home, but his search is finally over.

He arrived at RSPCA Cornwall as a transfer after being picked up as a stray. The gentle giant met a lot of people, but none were a fit.

The handsome mastiff was often passed by because of his large size, weighing over 130 pounds and standing over 6-feet tall, and the fact that he needed to be an only pet.

He was described by staff as "a lovely dog with a gentle temperament, but he is strong and can be stubborn." He needed a quiet home without children or other pets and someone who wouldn't mind all the slobber.

The big boy loves toys - sometimes a little too much, chasing birds, and cuddling. He doesn't realize how big he is and tries to crawl into your lap.

Basher quickly won the hearts of staff and volunteers who were determined to find him a loving home before Christmas.

The two-year-old giant has spent most of his life in a shelter and was about to spend another holiday season alone.

But thanks to his story and adorable face being shared on social media, his person has finally been found. The shelter announced the good news on Facebook.

They wrote, "You all did it!!! By sharing Basher's story far and wide, he now has the most wonderful home lined up for him. His new family have come to meet him and have fallen madly in love with him (who couldn't) and he's hoping to get his slobbery chops into his new home soon!"

While this is fantastic news for sweet Basher, there are still many other dogs and cats at the shelter who would love to find their forever home.
