The Eaton Fire, which ignited in the evening of January 7, has burned over 14,000 acres as it continues to spread. The massive fire has destroyed countless homes and separated people from their pets.
Pasadena Humane has been a lifeline for lost, injured, and displaced animals since the fires began. They continue to help with search and rescue missions as well as care for over 400 displaced animals.

They recently posted on Facebook that they have taken in almost 150 lost/stray animals due to the Eaton Fire with "no known owner". While many are dogs and cats, there are chickens, a potbelly pig, and even a tortoise.

They wrote, "Please share this post so we can spread the word and reunite them with their families. Visit our Pet Connect page at 24petconnect.com/psdn to see all the lost animals currently in our care."

Among the lost pets is a small white dog with the saddest eyes. These animals have been through so much and need help finding their people.

Let's hope the power of social media will help reunite these precious animals with their owners.
During disasters, pet owners are reminded just how vital microchips are. An updated microchip allows a lost pet to be quickly reunited with their family. People who are evacuating the wildfires are being urged to bring their pets with them and make sure their microchip contact information is updated.

Pasadena Humane asks locals who are looking for or have found an animal to please call their emergency hotline at 626-577-3752 for assistance.
