Dozens of Dogs & Cats at Overcrowded Southern Shelters Get One-Way Ticket to Freedom
Animal shelters are overcrowded, especially in southern states, and highly adoptable animals are at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space and adopters.
The Animal Rescue Site is helping save lives by sponsoring a Good Flight (called Flight to Freedom) every month. This month's flight will save over 70 dogs and cats from Louisiana and Alabama shelters and fly them to Idaho and Oregon to find loving homes.
These life-saving flights are possible thanks to your continued support. Meet some of the precious pets on this flight below and help us fly them to freedom!
Charlotte
This sweet 2-year-old spaniel mix was found wandering alone. The shelter believes she was dumped by her owner to fend for herself on the street. The adorable pup is ready for her second chance in Oregon. Her caretakers told us, "She is so sweet, and has loved every dog and person she has met her at the shelter. We know her stellar personality is going to make someone the best companion in her new life."
Graham
This 3-month-old neutered male orange kitten is ready to find a home in Oregon. The shelter shared, "Graham is the sweetest kitten, and you can see he loves to stop and smell the flowers! He is ready to cuddle up for a good nap or chase around his toys. He is ready to meet his forever family and show off just how sweet he can be!"
Mo and Miley
These two are adorable! The 8-week-old male and female Labrador mix puppies are spunky, playful, and ready for their next adventure. According to the shelter, "Mischievous Mo gets into everything and Miley tags along for the ride getting into just as much trouble as her brother. They are the sweetest little things. Their new families will be so lucky. The shelter staff and their foster are all going to miss them, but we know they are going to live their best lives!"
Short Stop
This pup is as unique as his name. He is believed to be a one-year-old dachshund/pit bull mix. Even though he has short legs, they don't slow him down at all. He is ready to find his person.
His caretakers said, "He is curious and playful, always looking to explore. He has been great meeting new people and dogs here at the shelter and has the best tail wags. We are so thrilled to see him live his best life as someone's new playmate!"
Sunset
Sunset is looking for a new family who will help her live a long and healthy life. She is a "big girl" who weighs 19 pounds and needs someone to help her shed some pounds. She loves attention and everyone she meets. She has a huge personality and is sure to win someone's heart in Oregon.
These are just a handful of the dogs and cats who are eagerly waiting for their Flight to Freedom on July 24. Donate now and help us save lives.
