Feral cats face countless dangers as they search for food and shelter, including being attacked by dogs.

Meet Mavis

She has lived her life on the streets of Indiana as a feral cat in a community that is fed by kindhearted people.

Mavis was found by a caretaker in horrible condition and rushed to Bartholomew County Humane Society for emergency care.

She was attacked by a dog and barely made it out alive. Mavis was suffering with multiple wounds that were untreated for over a week which caused her wounds to become infected and deep tissue became necrotic.

She underwent emergency surgery to remove the necrotic tissue and treat the infection in her abdomen. Drainage tubes were inserted to continue to drain the infection from her body.

The poor cat was stressed and at one point managed to get out of her cone and chewed her leg to the bone.

The leg will need to be amputated once she is healthy enough for surgery. Mavis has been through a lot and need our support to heal.

The shelter reached out the Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund for help. The fund was created to help save animals like Mavis by covering the cost of emergency surgeries and medical care. Your donations help save lives.

Mavis is in a foster home as shelter life was too hard on her. She has a long and expensive road to recovery. She will need physical therapy and adjust to moving on three legs.

Donate now to help Mavis heal and live a long and healthy life in a loving home. Your gift will not only give her the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover her ongoing care. Help us meet our goal of $4,000 for Mavis and pets like her.
