Kitten Trapped in Wall Gets Adopted by Officer Who Helped Save Her Life

Luck was on the side of a tiny kitten who became trapped in a wall in an abandoned building.

Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Homeless Outreach Team was searching the building for trespassers and heard a "strange noise" coming from inside the wall.

The officers carefully removed a section of the wall and found a malnourished kitten. She was underweight and trapped for days without food or water.

The calico kitten was brought to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region to get the care she needed, but not before stealing the heart of one of the officers. According to the shelter, "She weighed just 15 ounces and we estimated her age at about 8 weeks. She went to a foster home for a few weeks to gain weight and grow."

She spent a month at the foster home regaining her strength before heading home with Officer White. She's aptly named "Wallflower".

The department posted on Facebook, "Well, our officers might not be rescuing cats from trees like our friends at @csfdpio. We just rescue them from walls."

A huge thanks to the officers for investigating the odd sound and saving Wallflower's life.
