Rescue Team Saves Ukraine Woman, Her Dog, and Dozens of Cats She Feeds from Frontline
Emergency animal evacuations continue as Russian forces advance on more cities in Ukraine.
Animal Rescue Kharkiv (ARK) continues to get calls from people asking for help to rescue their pet who was left behind. The courageous team continues to enter the dangerous areas to save lives.
A woman named Lyudmila has been living in one of the villages that is being attacked daily. She has remained in the area since the war began with her dog named Johnny and has risked her life to feed twenty abandoned cats across the village.
She finally decided that it is too dangerous to stay - but wouldn't leave without all the animals. ARK arrived to assist her in capturing all the animals and evacuating them out of the war zone.
ARK posted a video of the rescue that shows just how dangerous it is and why they are such heroes. Drones were flying overhead, and bombs can be heard in the background. Check it out below.
Lyudmila found a place to stay but is unable to take any animals. She has turned them over to ARK and Patron Pet Center where she knows they will be cared for until they find loving homes, including her beloved dog, Johnny.
Rescuers also managed to save five other dogs and three parrots still in the war zone. Most of the animals were taken in by the center who is busy caring for them, both physically and mentally.
As the calls for help continue to come in, the team heads out on another rescue mission to evacuate animals from the frontlines. Join us in helping to care for these animals by donating here.
