Ukrainians Living in Damaged Homes Without Power Continue to Care for Homeless Animals
Bombs continue to fall from the sky on villages across Ukraine destroying homes and endangering the lives of the people and pets who still call the area home.
Abandoned and stray animals are terrified and struggle to find food and shelter in the expanding war zone.
With your support, we are continuing to send pet food and aid to the brave people who stay behind to care for the innocent animals.
United for Animals (UfA), our partners who help distribute the donations to people in remote and destroyed villages, shared with us how the donations are impacting the lives of people and pets in Ukraine.
People who have chosen to remain in their native village live in harsh conditions but give what little they have to animals in need. They open their homes that may be missing part of the roof or have shattered windows to homeless animals.
Most are without electricity and no form of communication so when help arrives, they are beyond relieved. UfA told us, "When our aid reaches these villages, we see tears on the faces of the people – tears of joy and gratitude. It’s not just about receiving help; it’s about knowing that someone remembers them, that they are not left to face these challenges alone."
They take comfort in knowing that the animals who have become their companions during this hard time will have food to eat. Join us in sending more pet food to homeless dogs and cats of Ukraine.
We are also helping keep animals and people warm by providing blankets and insulated outdoor kennels. They need our help now more than ever as winter has arrived, and many homes are without heat and electricity.
Military members and brave volunteers continue to evacuate animals near the frontlines. These animals haven't had a nutritious meal in a long time and need your support. Donate now to show them we haven't forgotten about them.
