Massive 7.4 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Colombia

Another devastating earthquake struck Latin America this week, causing widespread destruction across one of Colombia's poorest and hardest to reach regions, Chocó.  

Thousands are injured and missing, and at least 200 were killed in the disaster. Hundreds of buildings were damaged or completely destroyed. Entire communities have lost everything.

That's why our partner—Greater Good Charities—is mobilizing emergency relief, including emergency supplies and hygiene kits, while assessing needs with organizations on the ground, including the Colombian government, local NGOs, and the Federation of International Trade in Colombia.

In addition to the immediate aid, Greater Good Charities will focus on longer term needs for both people and animals, especially in the harder to reach communities where large aid clusters are not active, such as the Chocó region.
