This mature bald eagle was found near a flooded ditch in northern Indiana, soaking wet and barely conscious. A couple spotted the poor raptor and contacted the Humane Indiana Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center.

At the center, the eagle was placed in an oxygenator with heating pads to gradually raise its body temperature. While certainly not out of the woods, the eagle is now on the mend. Will you help give this bald eagle and other injured wildlife the space they need to recover?

As an apex predator, the bald eagle is a keystone species, meaning many other species depend on it for survival. A keen predator, it is also a scavenger, helping with nature's clean-up process. Despite being the United States' national bird, the bald eagle continues to face constant habitat loss and hunting, and needs our protection.

Greater Good Charities' Rescue Rebuild program is headed to the Humane Indiana Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center for an exciting renovation this June, and you can be part of the project!
