The Southeast has endured a relentless hurricane season with two major storms leaving paths of destruction across several states. Hundreds have died and thousands are left homeless, including pets.

Animal shelters are overwhelmed by the number of pets arriving daily in need of food and shelter. With resources and space stretched thin, shelters are at their breaking point.

That is why, The Animal Rescue Site and Greater Good Charities partnered with Southwest Airlines and Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to transport 145 pets that were in shelters prior to the hurricane to shelters in Wisconsin.

Countless cats are ready to find a purr-fect home, like Pumpkin. The 3-year-old black feline was rescued from a Tennessee shelter after Hurricane Helene. The shelter states, "She's affectionate, curious, and brings warmth to every space she inhabits, making her the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend."

A Jack Russel terrier mix named Tito, a young hound named Pilot, a playful pit bull named Sharona were just a few of the lucky passengers on the flight.

These life-saving transports give shelter pets a second chance at finding a loving home while opening space for the influx of pets from Hurricane Helene and now Milton.

There are more shelter pets who need to get out and we are planning another flight in two days. Donate now to help fly dozens of shelter cats out of Tennessee.

Click to Help James

James and his blind brother, William, were found abandoned on the street when they were just four weeks old. James was born with one blind eye that started to cause him discomfort. Over time, that eye became increasingly painful and irritated. James is the seeing-eye cat for his brother, making his condition even more urgent to treat.
